OUCET: Osmania University Common Entrance Test
Osmania University Common Entrance Test (OUCET) conducts post graduate and graduate eligibility test for engineering level, which are conducted by Osmania University for admissions into various PG, PG diploma and Five year Integrated Programmes in engineering are offered by Osmania, Telangana, Mahatma Gandhi and Palamuru Universities. The College of Engineering, Osmania University (OUCE) is an autonomous engineering college that is located in the Hyderabad, India. Currently regarded as one of the top engineering colleges, it was established in 1929. As per a survey by Edu, an Indian company and Rand Corporation, a non-profit American think-tank, Osmania University ranked as the 54th best Engineering College of India. The Directorate of Admissions has successfully carried out the huge task of providing fair admissions to the university and its affiliating institutions since 2000-2001 academic year.
OUCET Eligibility Criteria
Undergraduate - Candidates applying for OUCET should have passed the final year of Intermediate Examination (10 plus 2) pattern with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional or related vocational courses in the fields of Engineering and Technology, conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh
Post Graduate- Students applying for postgraduate engineering programs should pass in B.E. of Osmania University in the concerned discipline or its equivalent. Students with AMIE/AMIETE or similar qualifications recognized by O.U. as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech can apply for the same too. They also need to have a valid GATE score.

The online application process for OUCET requires all the candidates to visit the official website at
www.ouadmissions.com. The need to fill in the form online for the OUCET engineering entrance examination and then click on the submission button. Before submitting ensure that all provided information is relevant and correct. Once you fill the form, keep a hard copy of the same for ensuring that you have proof of the same.
Important Dates of OUCET
- Date of commencement of online registration & submission of applications: Mid week of April
- Last date of submitting the online applications: First week of May
- Last date with a late fee of Rs. 200/-: Mid week of May
- Last date with a late fee of Rs.500/-: Last week of May
OUCET Exam Pattern
The entrance tests in all the subjects of B.Tech, will consist of 100 multiple choice objective questions for 100 marks. The entrance test will be of 90 minutes duration. OUCET will consist of any 3 or 4 varieties of objective type items such as analogies, classification, matching, comprehension of a research study / experiment / theoretical point of view, etc., with multiple answers besides the usual multiple choice items. The items will be framed only from the syllabus of entrance test. The total questions will comprise of 100 marks and there is no negative marking for wrong answers. The syllabus includes 12th level math, chemistry, physics and general knowledge questions.
