Telangana University

Established in 2006, the primary objective of Telangana University was making higher education accessible to the educationally backward District of Nizamabad in Telangana. It is the third largest University next only to Osmania University (Hyderabad) and Kakatiya University (Warangal) in Telangana State. The University initially started with 6 courses and it was opened in the PG building of the Govt. Giriraj College at Dubba area in Nizamabad town before shifting to its primary campus in Dichpally  on NH 44 on January 30th 2009. The establishment of the University was the first big step for the people of the region as it got the name of the state before its bifurcation from Andhra Pradesh.

Telangana University has 26 courses among the all new universities and ranks third after Osmania University and Kakatiya University. It is also the first among the newly formed Universities in the state to launch Ph.D programme in a total of 13 disciplines.

There are more than 80 regular faculty who are highly qualified and trained and give their best to the students. All of them are doctorates and some eve have  teaching experience in a foreign university. There are about 50 well and experienced Academic Consultants in TU. There are a total of 8 regular Non-Teaching faculty members and around 260 Non-teaching Outsourcing Staff working for the TU.

Postgraduate programmes in Telangana University

Admissions to various courses are made on the basis of TUCET/OU Common Entrance Test (Conducted by the Osmania University, Hyderabad) rank and eligibility criteria subject to the rule of reservation. In every course of study 85% of the available seats are reserved in favour of the local candidates from the districts of Nizamabad and Adilabad.
