Prof Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU)

Originally part of Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University, Andhra Pradesh, Prof. Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) was established on 31st July 2014 immediately after the bifurcation from the state of Andhra Pradesh. It is the only farm University of Telangana, It is named in honour of Professor Jayashankar, an eminent educationist and an ardent Telangana ideologue. 

The University caters to the needs of the farming community of Telangana, which is rich with natural resources, diverse soil and agro-climatic conditions. This type of climate is suitable for varied cropping systems and has the potential to become the 'Seed bowl of India.'

After bifurcation, PJTSAU has five constituent colleges. Three of these colleges are devoted to the faculty of Agriculture, one to faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology and one to faculty of Home Science. In addition, there are nine polytechnics (seven in Agriculture, one each in Seed Science and agricultural Engineering). 

There are 16 Agricultural research stations, including three Regional Agricultural Research stations, 9 District Agricultural Advisory and Transfer of Technology centres (DAATTCs), six Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), one each of Extension Education Institute(EEI), Agricultural Information and Communication Centre(AI&CC), Agricultural Technology Information Centre(ATIC, Electronic Media Wing and Farmers call Centre spread across the state with scientific ,supporting and administrative staff, apart from a good contingent of labour force.

PJTSAU Telangana M.Tech & M.Sc Admission

For admission to PG courses offered by the university, candidates should have passed the relevant Bachelors Degree examination. Only the candidates who have appeared for ICAR entrance examination are eligible for admission to PJTSAU. The upper age limit to apply for the course is 40 years as on July 1 of the year of admission.

Selection of candidates for M.Sc/ M.Tech shall be done on the basis of their previous academic record at Under Graduate level (30% weightage) and performance in the entrance test (70% weightage) conducted by ICAR through AIEEA PG. In case of MBA Agri-Business Management, the selection shall be based on the performance in entrance test, conducted by ICAR.
